Baby Candy Mama & Child Giveaway!

I am offering a great giveaway for both mama and child that is already wrapped and ready for the holidays!  Baby Candy, a small, mom owned company, makes cute shirts and onesies for babies, toddlers, kids and mamas, too.  I am giving away a matching “Sugar Mama” chocolate brown 100% cotton tee shirt size L for mom and the same adorable shirt size 2T for her toddler.

The way they are packaged is very unique – it looks like candy and comes with a “nutrition facts” label on the back listing the size and what it is.

We did a completely “homemade” Christmas last year and this year will be the same. Last year we made my daughter a play kitchen! Really simple, and with wood, decor, and everything included, it only cost about $35 total!! (incredible price compared to what those thing sell for!)

  2. Tonsofsons Says:

My children made calendars for each family member. They wrote all families b-day on them. It was cute.

I am making afghans for the children.

Thanks for the chance to win.

  3. Emily B Says:

I am doing a handcrafted Christmas this year. We did jams in the summer which I have put a pretty cloth circle on top of the jars, they look really nice and always go over well. I also crochet dishcloths (easy and quick, takes only 1 small skein of handicrafters crochet cotton each, and I actually get requests for these since I started making them). I am also making really cute little Christmas trees out of felt, and ornaments as well. It’s going to be a frugal Christmas but everything is made with love.

  5. lizzykristine @ Uplifted Eyes Says:

One thing I’ve done lately (not the MOST creative, but kids LOVE it) is to give a dollar bill for each year of their age. When kids are only like 7 years old, it is cheaper and easier than any other gift. :)

  6. Emily Says:

Hot chocolate mix layered in a glass jar is a nice inexpensive christmas gift. A cute mug full of christmas candy is pretty inexpensive too.

  7. SAHW Says:

My own kids haven’t arrived yet (still have a few months to go!), but when I was teaching, I would give my kids the gift of books…I think this could be easily adapted for parents too – each flier of the Scholastic/Troll book club fliers always has at least one book for 99 cents – if you start buying those 99 cent books at the beginning of the school year, you’ll have a nice collection of great books at a price that really can’t be beat. I know Scholastic/Troll also has programs for homeschooling parents, so homeschoolers can benefit from their great prices too!

  9. Nicole Says:

My favorite gift for kids is the gift of time – usually in the form of coupons for visits to the park, the zoo, game together etc. Really, that’s what my kids remember and enjoy more than “stuff”

One year I sewed a huge frog pillow for the S. It’s in storage now, but I think it’ll be great for stretching out on to watch movies together in our new house.

(and I’m already subbed to your Rss ;) )

  10. Trisha Says:

How fun! I love home made fleece blankets for gifts. All the kids love to snuggle up with them throughout the year.

  11. Colleen Says:

You can make your own playdough, package it in some cute tins or little plastic storage containers and give them that with some kitchen items like plastic cookies cutters.

  12. Shari D Says:

I save on wrapping paper by making my own. The boys seem to like the comics used as wrapping the most.

  13. rachel crisman Says:

My answer is simple:Dollar Tree stocking stuffers!!!!!!!!!

  14. Carol Says:

We try to avoid to many material things, and instead focus on nature and our family. The kids love helping me string popcorn and cranberries for the birds, and we also fill orange halves (hollowed) with peanut butter and enjoy the birds.

  15. andrea Says:

I need to be reading ideas, I’m not all that creative. However what about paper dolls?

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  20. Amy Says:

I am making my son some soft blocks to play with for Christmas

  21. Heidi Says:

So far for holidays we’re doing a photo calendar with pictures of all our kids (for the grandparents.) We also saw some cute ideas on-line, one was letting the kids draw pictures on cardstock and cutting it out, then placing it on a magnet sheet (inexpensive at the craft store) and cutting around the drawing for fridge magnets. They displayed it in a cd case and I wish I could better describe it – it turned out really cute. We also took pictures of our kids in profile and traced around their heads to make silhouette ornaments, like little cameos. I just can’t post pictures yet on our blog or I’ll ruin the surprise but I can email you pictures if you want to see either one. We’re also making home made fudge and truffles for gifts.

Thanks for the chance to win, those shirts are adorable.

  22. Heidi Says:

Second entry, I subscribed with RSS feed. Thanks again!

  23. Kathleen Says:

I’ve made up homemade gift baskets last year with homemade pancake and cocoa mix, coffee (which I bought in bulk) and I knitted some dishcloths. You could also have the kids make their own wrapping paper by getting a roll of butchers paper and letting them draw on it or decorate it.

I’ve never done it before but I’ve seen the homemade fleece blankets (the ones where they’re double-sided, and the edges are fringed and tied together). SO cute, and if you could find fleece on sale, it would be cheap too! I also make great use of the Target dollar area!

  29. katie stacey Says:

  34. Kelsey Says:

Make a blanket or pillow and put their pictures on it, my sister made me a pillow with photos of the two of us on it- I loved it, and what kid doesn’t love photos of themselves or Mom and Dad to snuggle up with at night. You could head to the dollar store also to fill up those stockings, they have suprisingly good stuff sometimes, or the dollar section at Target is great too. For others I love the idea of the mason jars with the layered cookie ingredients with the recipe strung on the outside. You could go to Shutterfly and make a calander for them using family photos as well.

Kids love hot chocolate. ANd they love fancy packaging. You can make an ice cream cone looking package of hot chocolate with clear plastic frosting decorating bags. Put one serving home made hot chocolate mix in one, tie it off and set it inside the other bag. Layer chocolate chips on top of that bag and then top with marshmellows. Close the top and seal with ribbons. You can make a tag with the directions to attach to it, too.

you know redoing a kids room is affordable- not free but paint and stuff and would be a great gift they would cherish if they don’t need alot..

I actually started building each of my kids at a certain age tools for the car/home- so when they had their own car they had it – they had it and was affordable- people thought how stupid at the start but the ones that drive have tool boxes with everything and anything they might need for repairs and some I got on clearance or cheap

Stopping by to find out what Colorado thinks is the definition of a person . . .

But, since you’re offering free stuff.

I’m a frugal nut. My kids aren’t addicted to packaging so most of what they get under the tree is used from a garage sale, thrift store or ebay. This way I can make all their dreams come true and still retire. The 2 year old is getting a “new enough” bike for $5.

I also send out a note in Oct. telling the extended family what the giving boundaries are. It took a few years but we’ve got a White Elephant party on one side and a Drawing Names for one sibling’s family on the other.

I’m not getting my brother-in-law who complains at every gathering and won’t do dishes a gift and skipping my husband who does dishes every night to save money. And I’m not touching a credit card.
