Victory For Whales!
Some good news today from the NRDC:
“With the U.S. Navy about to train with dangerous, mid-frequency sonar during nearly a dozen upcoming exercises off the southern California coast, a federal judge has stepped in — at NRDC’s request– and blocked the use of the sonar!
We are demanding that the Navy put common-sense measures in place to protect whales and other marine mammals from a lethal technology that has caused whale strandings and deaths around the world.
The court’s injunction is “preliminary,” which means that this fight is far from over. Nevertheless, it is a stunning setback for the Navy, and it supports our contention that whales should not have to die for military practice.”
Woo hoo! This is amazing. This organization does amazing things for the planet and all her living creatures in general. Thanks to all the people like us who click on the link and sign a petition or send an email to our representatives in congress, we can help turn the tides of cold apathy that our gov’t has over the planet and her inhabitants just for the sake of more “military testing” or searching for possible oil and screw the wildlife preserves.
Now if we can just save the wolves in the Rockies and Alaska from being so cruelly gunned down while still on the endangered species list. Over 700 of them have been killed in Alaska already. Disgusting.

Woo HOO!!!!
Since I read about this ages ago I’ve wondered what the Navy’s stance on this is – do they think that it doesn’t cause damage or do they simply not care/think sea life is not important? It flummoxes me
I can’t get around the Navy’s insistence on using this.
